Afghan President Hamid Karzai says he’ll delay signing of U.S. accord on troops
KABUL — The year-long quest for an agreement for U.S. troops to remain in Afghanistan beyond 2014 took a potentially ominous turn Thursday as President Hamid Karzai told a national assembly called to consider the deal that he won’t sign it until after the presidential election here in April.
