China’s economy grows robust 7.7 percent in 2013, but signs of slowdown emerge

BEIJING — China’s economy grew by a robust 7.7 percent last year, one of the strongest performances globally, government data showed Monday, although signs of a slowdown emerged late in the year as authorities tried to rein in a debt-fueled investment binge.
