U.N. Security Council votes to bolster peacekeeping force in South Sudan

The United Nations Security Council voted Tuesday to bolster a peacekeeping force in strife-torn South Sudan, increasing its personnel by nearly 80 percent after the world body’s top human rights official warned that mass killings were on the rise and expressed fear for the safety of hundreds of detainees in an increasingly brutal ethnic conflict.
