Dragged into the spotlight by a hacker named "Guccifer" (who was later reported to be a 40-year-old Romanian man named Marcel Lazar Lehel in real life) the paintings soon unexpectedly blossomed from private hobby to being favorably reviewed New York Magazine's art critic.
