R.K. Laxman, India's preeminent political cartoonist, died Monday at 93. Laxman's daily cartoons on the front page of the Times of India, the world's largest circulated English language newspaper, were a staple of Indian life for some six decades. He was most famous for his perennial "Common Man" character, a vehicle through which the cartoonist commented on the foibles, hypocrisies and injustices of India's political scene.Read full article >>
